Lampung Silica Sand is available in large quantities and in various sizes ranging from flour, sand, gravel and silica stone.
Lampung silica sand is quartz which over time, is exposed to water and wind, has split into small grains
Silica sand in Indonesia generally comes from Bangka which is commonly called bangka sand, and also from the Bandar Lampung area which is commonly called Lampung silica sand. Apart from Bangka and Lampung, there are also silica sands or quartz sands from other areas, such as Tuban or commonly people call Tuban silica sand and in some areas of Kalimantan, and South Sumatra.
Commercial Silica Sand is widely used as a strong material needed by the Oil & Gas Industry to carry out Hydraulic Fracturing (A way to increase oil production by making fractures in less porous rocks). This resource is also used in industrial processing to make daily goods - days such as glass, construction materials, personal care products, electronics, and even renewable materials
Silica sand also functions as a proppant in rocks. What is a proppant? Proppants can also be called buffer in formation. After pumping in formations, the fracture will close slowly but not completely close. silica Sand acts as a buffer so that the fracture does not close completely. The open fracture becomes a link to the rock containing oil & gas to enter the oil well.
